hey guys,
I think the amiga isn't all that superior to PC or Playstation2. Certainly a G4 CPU hasn't got 9 parallel MACs like the Playstation2. And I haven't heard of any graphics cards for the PC or Amiga going to beat this soon.
Also, AMD K7 1000MHz CPUs and the merced are already announced. Clearly G4 is a more efficient CPU, but it needs to have a higher clock to keep up with these babies.
And what's the point (as Peter(Havoc) already pointed out) in having exactly the same components as on PC. We on the atari platform have plenty of these clones as well.
The new Amiga OS sounds cool. If it has new realtime features and is as compact as they say it could go far. But on PC (and every other machine) we have Linux. And this can also be as compact as you want and is very efficient as well.
I just wanna make it clear that I think amiga2 is an exciting development, but it won't change the computerworld as we know it (which in my eyes WILL need to happen someday).
To peter: hey, amiga has nothing like cubase audio or notator logic. It can't even come near atari still. The same goes for professional DTP with calamus.
But I agree amiga has the best graphics programs. They were always better.
