Well, yeah, CE is a sucky OS but CE machines have the best hardware, that's the point I was trying to make...The only reason I sold my Palm IIIe was that I was strapped for cash and I preferred the screen on my Casio... I like Psion's Epoc, I have a Series 5 with a dodgy screen, although it could manage ST Low and ST Medium res fine it couldn't handle ST High and the speed of the StrongARM CPU isn't fast enough to emulate a 68K in realtime.
The CPU in the PalmOS devices is practically a 68000 with an LCD controller built in, there would be no CPU emulation at all - that's the same as the Spectre GCR mac emulator, it just emulated the Mac hardware but the machine code instructions were the same.
There's a project for someone...is there a Linux port for the PalmOS? Because then you could port STonX...
