I have been looking at your site a few times, and I must say that I agree with "that pese-nerd"... First of all, take his advice on the 882. Using it is a complete waste of time and money. I have two computers with 882-emulators, and in real life they're much faster than a 882.
I was also a bit puzzled by your DSP/Sound solution. OK, it's a good DSP, but where's the sound? You need a good DAC/ADC with DMA too. Preferably one with SPDIF. And you need a mixer.
I liked the DSP<->ISA interface though, it would have been useful in my Milan ;-)
The "twin Videl"-idea is also a bit odd. It has no videoRAM and no acceleration, and will only offer marginally better performance than the original. It's a waste of CPU and bus bandwidth. Why not some integrated GPU from ATI or something? Or even better, an AGP-slot?
USB: I'm sorry, but "translating" Windows-drivers is just not possible. It *could* have worked if the driver ran inside an emulator, but that would not be very efficient on a 040. I think you can drop this idea right away.
