Yeah, right.
I think my main problem, is what type of programs I write -which are all crap.
But, if I wrote the fastest peice of code I possibly could to say sort out a few million words ( This is an example by the way ) in C, andn I wrote the same task in assembly, I would definitely write the code in assembly a hell of a lot faster tha I could in C, and the endn result would take a fraction of the time to run too!
Saying that, I am a very crap C programmer and my HiSoft Basic code more often than not turnns out faster too! ( Like I said, I am a bad C programmer - and yes, I really am THAT BAD! )
It seems to me though, that this may be my problem - not realising that people prefer C to assembly, while I am the other way around because I cannot understand the C syntax at all, but assembly is simple straight forward logic... If you see my meaning?
Shit I need to learn C a bit more!
I keep saying this, but the original question had NOTHING at all to do with clones... I said TOS 2.6 I think. as in ST & Megas
All the code is already there pretty much, I know I have the complete assembly listings for BIOS, XBIOS and GEMDOS all we need is to gather it all, and chuck it onto a ROM Chip.
I know for sure its got to be worth at least having a look!
