Easy.
1. By using the INSTALL program that are on
the original disks. It might require a harddisk on the current releases on MagiC, but up to MagiC 4 worked fine from disks.
2. Both require the appropriate host-adapter or controller. SCSI is definetly the better solution on an ST and there are quite a few good host-adapters around with the best being Link'97 by WB System. IDE is not that famous on the ST but there are several controllers, too (Mario Becroft's series for example). However, IDE means internal and 520/1040 ST cases don't have room for a 3.5" harddisk drive. CD-ROMs work from IDE and SCSI i think.
