The power cable should work fine (standard kettle plug thing yes).
More info is required;
I assume the power cable works (try it is a pc or kettle).
Is nothing happening at all (no lights), if so it could be a blown fuse on the power supply located top left, it may hum when the power is on which is good, if not open the machine and replace fuses that look bad with correct size (and mind the big capacitors).
If it hums but still nothing then check every thing else looks good (internal power cables, chips seated in sockets firmly), much more than that and it sounds bad.
