Hi all,
I can remember a table which compares Motorola and Intel/AMD
CPUs by their date of appearance (!).
Following these benchmarks, Motorolas are all
about twice as fast as the x86's.
The table ranged from the 68030 to the G4.
(on the x86 side I think it was from the 386 to the P4)
I could bite my arse, I didn't store the URL
in my hotlist :-(
Anyway, I was not talking about different kinds of
compilation ;-) but what is possible by pure
assembler code.
I have to admit that I don't know very much
about x86's; is it true that they can only address
8 internal registers like the 386?
Cheers, Alex
