Try HD Driver 7 or higher. I have formatted my ZIP's using it and never had any trouble. I use a Falcon so i haven't tested it on ST but it should work same way...

ZIP drive has built in terminator, just use the little switch which is in back of the ZIP drive reading terminator on or off
