On the contrary. A lot of people are interested and more people than you think are involved. In fact, there was an Atari Software fund raised especially to support this project and both hard- and software-wise, progress is made.

But - in contrast to prior TOS-clone developments - the people involved in X-TOS decided only to talk about fixed and working stuff in public and not to announce heaven and then cancel everything.
Be a bit more patient, if things progress as quickly and well as they currently do, there will be a major news-update on X-TOS soon.
