Hello fellow Atari and Amiga Lovers!
Well first I want to say the current AmigaOS can support multiple Processor. There has even a four processor G4 board has been announced by Phase5. (Only some unixes can do the same)
Amiga Inc. stated the NEW Amiga WILL be revolutionary! Although some important hardware will be mainstream it will also has a super secret chip. They state that the new Amiga will sandardly be 5x -10x more powerfull than a $3000 PC for multimedia uses! (That is a $500 Amiga config I am talking about!!!!) They will first release a workstation, A500 like machine and an internet appliance. (It will be ALOT hotter than a Playstion2 - around 10x more polygons/second) The bare amiga would be able to play 4 full motion videos simulatiously. (Modern PC have trouble with even one)
Amiga Inc is working around 2 years on these babies together with some excellent companies like QNX and I think we won`t be dissapointed!
By the way I also use Linux but the Amiga OS will be more powerfull for multimedia etc.
