Hi,
The ATW 800 is based on the Inmos T800 transputer, and came with 1 processor (its sort of Risc, but different. Look up transputer on the web)
The core ran on 20 Mhz with a 5 Mhz bus if i recall correctly, but the processors could be upgraded with so called Farmcards, with 4 processors each. This is a true multi-processor system that scales from the processors, through the programming language (Occam) upwards to the OS (Helios).
I've only seen em running a few times on Atari fairs, but the performance with a few farmcards was impressive. Graphically they were very advanced for their time. (a lot of high res modes).
It's one of the few atari systems i never managed to get hold of (except if you count one time i could buy one without operating system).
