Bugger, I just been looking for a god way to put it, and all it is, was just that!
The CD is straight signal, that needs no processing, a DVD is compressed!
I think even if a DVD was not compressed, the humble ST would probably die just trying to convert the picture to something it could display anyway! - I wil have to try that one out.
