Hi Steve.
Yes, it has been done without modification. :)
I used an old Hitachi TV camera, cos it has
both RGB- and the needed 32MHZ sync signal
-outputs. Fed that sync signal into the STE´s
sync input, and merged the cameras and the
STE´s RGB outputs together, with three analog
multiplexers, which was set to let the cameras
picture thru to the VCR, when they were untriggered.
Then I used three schmitt-triggers, from the
STE´s R, G, and B signals, to trigger the
MUX´es. The result was that everything on the
STE´s screen that was not black, was mixed on
to the cameras picture and recorded on the VCR.
ie I actually merged color animations onto
live camera, and with a very good result. :o)
I used it to put some animations onto a music video,
using Cyberpaint. This must be just about the
maximal of fun one can have with a ST?
