Do you know though... Linux is very weird in a lot of ways....

For a start, My main linux box is my AMD 400 O/C to 600mhz, and when I freshly install Linux, it runs slow as hell, but after I spend some time doing some touches here and there, it leaves the duron standing.

Its not too much different on the Atari.

Of course, with the x86 versions you have a hell of a lot more to get rid of, and add, but the basics are the same... The biggest improvement you can do is recompile the kernal with only what you need, you will be surprised just how much speed you will gain.

I still use a P100 with only 32MB and Mandrake 6.1 and as it is, its faster than a 200MMX running an untouched RedHat install... Proof in the pudding as they say... or some say.. or maybe not!

You wont get such differences on 0x0Linux, but you will get somehtign like 20% maybe as far as 50% increase for sure!
