Hello Jim
The bridge rectifier is the large black square block (around 1inch square) on the PSU. It has four leads leading to it. And has something like this on it

The point of the bridge rectifier (its just four diodes) is to convert ac to dc. Once the mains ac is converted to dc it is stabiliser, then oscillated and passed thru a transformer to lower the voltage. Then this dc voltage is stablised and passed on to computer.
Jim just get that rectifier changed im sure it will solve ya problem:)
PSST Jim i had a bad day and wanna play on my falcon. Can you solve VGA problem?
