You can, but under TOS you will have to limit the partitions sizes, and this depends on the TOS version...
I would advise you to use HDDriver myself, and I recon many others will too.
I dont know what TOS Version you have, but Falcons have a 1GB Limit I think, and TTs have 500MB Limit, and STs have smaller ( 127MB????? ) - I am never too sure as to the true limit, because my first HD was 540MB and I had it booting on a standard STE with the full 500 odd MB that it was, so the limit of 32MB was seemingly obvious that it was just limited to using AHDI - at the time, I used SD Driver.
Anyway, try making a smaller first partition, or perhaps 250MB and then other partitions of various sizes to see what your TOS Version can cope with.
If you use Magic or MiNT, then I think that only the Boot partition will have this limit, and after that, you are ok to use the rest of the drive...
I myself have a 4.3GB Drive, and under TOS, its not useable, but under Magic, I see the files no trouble!
Also remember that the bigger the partition, the bigger the cluser sizes, so the bigger the waste of space when using a lot of smaller files...
Exampel of that, was when I had 110MB of HTML Files, and I tried to copy them to a 140MB Disk and they did not fit! - this was because at 127MB the cluster sizes doubled... so check things like this out when using various partition sizes too!
Oh, I think that should be enough to help out, but my mind is playing up right now, so I might have made a mistake???
