Dont know anything eh? - thats good...
You are about to embark on a very long journey, that will quite possibly cost you a keyboard, and screen ( when you smash them up for your code having errors you cant find ) ( Joke of course )
Seriously though, its a great thing to write your first program, dont aim high, cos if it goes silly, then you wont be too disappointed.
My first program was a role-playing game, that is much in the same lines as the Steve Jackson / Ian Livingstone game books, and at the time, I never even knew how to clear the screen, but I didnt give a toss.
Ok, ST Software on Falcon?
Yes, actually, you will be very surprised at just how much stuff does run on the Falcon... I was under the impression that nothing runs, but I have had next to no problems at all with software... GEM Stuff should all run, as long as the code is good and legally written ( no shortcuts ) then they should run perfectly happoily, its only games etc that will have issues.
Programming languages?
Well, yes, you say Basic, so, I would suggest HiSoft Basic v2.10 before any others, but GFA Basic is a hell of a lot faster ( I think you need v3.6 - thats the version needed for the TT anyway ), it has been used for programming many games ( Dave munsie rings a bell here ) and there is also STOS ( you need a Falcon version of that too ) which is very nice for getting surprisingly good results for games in next to no programming code.
