The plan on XTOS is sto include an emulator that will run on top of MiNT or whatever TOS they decide on and allow backwards compatibility with STf and STe hardware. If you've noticed, you can't run the old games on TT's, Hades's, or Milan's. This simply fixes the problem by providing an ST emulator ot run very old, poorly behaved programs that access ST hardware directly. The system will run MiNT natively and all well programmed GEM software will run in native mode without any emulation. The XTOS might run faster than emulators on PC hardware because it will include full memory management, which only Aranym supports right now, almost complete 68k instruction set, and a fast DSP. The DSP will really put it over the top. A lot of people dislike emulation, remmeber. They prefer a hardware solution. I'm not sure why, but I also prefer hardware. jeff
