Yeah, it's quite cheap with my CDR. I've been quite happy using my CD software from Anodyne. My intrest is in having something to record all my midi and Falcon sound sources to at one time, for convenience. One way I've been doing it is to record up to 6 tracks audio, mix them to a stereo file, then recording stereo out put from the keyboards, then doing a final mixdown. If my needs exceed that, I know that I can use 16 track mode (never tried it.) I have also never quite gotten the levels as hot as I'd like them by this process. I have purchaced some of the Mastering software from Soundpool, but have yet to learn it. It seems to me that a dedicated CDRecorder would be a better choice for sound quality (Obviously depending on the model,) because the final result would have to go back from the DAT's and FAD-8's A/D converters to make a CD. Maybe I'm all wet about that. I guess one could use the FDI to transfer the file to HD, and that would be the same as copying the CD to HD? If so, it comes down to sound quality and price, and the dedicated CD recorder still wins?

Hmm. Maybe. For now I still need it because unless I'm doing it wrong, the sound pool mastering software wants the fdi connected to work at 44.1. It dosn't seem to recognise the little Cuebase clock that I plug into the DSP port. Kind of a pain because since I don't have a dat machine, CAF complains about not getting a clock from the DAT. So if I'm gonna work in CAF, gotta use the little clock, if I'm gonna use Audio Master, gotta plug in the FDI. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!
