Any program that is written in c or c++ needs just a recompilation with the gcc for the coldfire to run natively. About the fpu. I think the missing fpu in the coldfire5704 is not a cathastrophe. The first point is, that the cpu will sit on a cpu-board which will be exchangable by a new coldfire-v4e cpu-board when the v4e is available. This new coldfire core also has an mmu and fpu. Maybe the new core is already available when the development of the new computer is finished - depends on motorola. But even the missing native fpu instructions are not that bad. For normal work with gem-programs fpu instructions are seldom needed. When it comes to raytracing or fractal software - we have a problem. BTW: I never used the fpu for any of my programs (escape paint, whip!, demos like hmmm...). Greetings, Norman
