Sure, the coldfire has to emulate a few instructions but I'm pretty sure this is not gonna cause any major problems when running old atari software. So why do we all bother with using a system that is outdated since long and has lost pretty much all its commercial hardware/software support? Why do we still use 8MHz STs both for games and serious applications? Why do we spend whole nights optimizing code on falcon to be able to transform one extra vertex? Why not use a PC with OpenGL and we are sorted! Beause we can! Because atari has got something a pc lacks, spirit! I love my falcon(s), I love the way they were designed with all the flaws and bugs. I love the way you lose 2mb from the 16mb simm you just installed. Even though I usually bitch about this on irc. This is (IMO) what makes a nice computer. I dont think the CPU is that important in such a machine, it will still fly compared to our falcons! Fredrik.
