I (and many others) still do not recommend you used HD disks as DD disks. Many people have nothing but problems doing this. It may work fine for some, but eventually, data will be lost or can't be read or written to by other computers. I, myself, have had nothing but problems.

Again DD disks are not that expensive and can be ordered through mail order.
