As I sort of suggested to someone below, if you can't get rid of it, try ebay, I find that there's usually someone interested. If you really wanted to save throwing it away, you could even put some audio/video inputs on it (it's just three pins from the plug - 1 for audio one for video, one for earth - you might have to rig up a cable). About the only problem is that an sc1224 is only a 12 inch screen, so even with those inputs, it mightn't be too attractive to a playstation owner or something. YOu could call it an "RGB video editing monitor" or something, I do know people who edit video on their amiga thru an sc1224 because they think it has a good picture... so it's not lying :-)
