I would recomend getting Ethernet for both machines. You can buy an Ethernet interface from http://hardware.atari.org/.
Another solution is paralell, for that you should go for Parcp, can be found at http://joy.atari.org/ although it needs a cable to be made, but I belive Joy software can supply you with that as well.
The DSP is at the top-right part of the MB, really only one chip there can resemble the DSP (small one with alot of pins), however I forgot what text was printed on it..
