Well, I did decide to put it in ALL the folders in the CAB directory, but it still failed to accept it was there, so I just decided to re-install CAB.
It find it ( well, CABSURF does anyway ) but its stil l looking at me like something on its shoe!
Its there, its so close, its just that CAB wont talk to the bloody modem?
Maybe its not talking to STING? I dont know? I am not entirely sure what is supposed to be happening here.
What exactly do I need installed on the computer?
Like I said, I have re-installed everythign from scratch, and this is what I have:-
Magic 6
Jinnee Desktop
CAB 2.5 ( This gave me IConnect and Sockets )
HSMODEM
STING 1.26
I have also lost the Serial port adapter, so I am using MODEM 2, and I cannot get it better than 19K. This is the least of my worries actually, while I get it sorted, but could this be an issue???
I am sure that Modem 2 can do a lot more, and I should be able to use 56K. I am also sure that Modem2 does an awkward couple of speeds either side of 56K which are 38 and 78 or something?
Is it safe for me to simply use a 9-Pin serial port from a PC as a quick fix to replace the original Atari ones?
