All the chiptrackers you mention were initially programmed for an Atari ST running in an Atari ST Low resolution - They weren't meant to run on a Falcon and especially not under MultiTOS.
If you want to avoid problems, boot your Falcon cleanly (with CTRL or ALT pressed, depending on wether you need a harddisk or not). I think there's a newer and more compatible version of SSD, have a look at the www.dhs.nu page for more information.
About ACE - This sounds funny since ACE is well written. It sounds like the "resource" file is faulty. Maybe a faulty download. Please try to download once more and if the problem persists, contact Thomas of NBD.
