Havoc:
Well with Amiga there never has been a real NEED for upgrading for many years. I just think it is cool to have the ABILITY to upgrade and make it up-to-date again.
As you own an A1200 you are able to house in in a tower and add a PowerPC or 68060 processors, modern graphic cards, 16-bit audio cards, etc. I think to have the ABILITY is real cool. (I don`t recommend it though, because the new Amiga is just aroung the corner (4th Quarter 1999) and it will cost you alot less dough.)
The new (A500 like) Amiga should have a very good standard config, just like the orginal Amigas so there will probably be no NEED to upgrade to higher specs for many years to come. But to have the ABILITY would be great.
About the OS: Well the nice thing about the AmigaOS is that you can change it to suite your personality and imagination. To do so you will have to have a bit of knowledge of it`s OS though. This will change with the new Amigas that will look cool right out of the Box and be easier for people like you to operate. I think it is cool when you look at the Workbench of different people and it looks like a different platform each time. One has made his Workbench look like Windows (yuck) with startbar etc, another uses the famous Dopus Magellan with great NewIcons or MagicWB etc. It is just cool to have the ABILITY to have some individualtity in your Operating Environment.
Sincerely, Mike.
