for magic check: http://www.application-systems.de/
magic is a commercial multitasking environment. if you're looking for a relatively easy way to do multitasking stuff it might be an option, but the full package still costs 100E :/
for mint check: http://wh58-508.st.uni-magdeburg.de/sparemint/
and: http://freemint.de/en/
mint has some similarities with linux, not the easiest thing to setup but it's the best supported and most powerful multitasking environment on atari. it's free too btw :)
if you're (only) looking for a fast'n'easy way to transfer files, parcp is the way to go: http://joy.sophics.cz/
and for some rather weird but cool music apps check this page: http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/electronic_cow/cownet.shtml
cheers,
/peter.
