When you say "let go", I hope you mean sell or donate. It partly depends on how much accessories, and how much you have invested in it. If you are talking about just the console itself, you will probably have a hard time selling the 2600 on e-bay, because there's a lot of them there. But if you include a lot of good games with it, your chances are better that somebody will give you a good deal. Anyway:
2600: pros:
The pioneer of video game consoles
Hundreds of great classic games
Cartridges are almost indestructible
cons:
Weaker graphics
XE GS: pros:
Only Atari 8-bit with a detached keyboard
Better graphics
Thousands of games (if you have a disc drive)
cons:
Not as many cartridge games
Loses value if you don't have the keyboard
