Heh, I think havoc is right about apple. They need to see money first in order to do something for atari. And with the way apple programmers code, I'd rather not see this happen ;)
Though, apple is nice in terms of cpu power and that os x i saw was quite good imho.
If you like diy, atari is good for you. Sadly there ain't too much hardware guru's working on a large scale. look at:

I hope rodolphe is not too busy with the ct060 still. Getting your 040 machine to 060 sounds quite challenging to me. Some AB040 accelerator owner once thought about upgrading his 040 to 060 on that board.. So maybe it ain't impossible....
