There are a few Telnet-programs for STiK/STinG and they work without any problems, their terminal emulation is just not very good.
The simplest one simply called "telnet" handles an odd mixture of ANSI, vt52 and vt100, but none of them completely, the other one, i forgot its name (tel102 or something) has a mixed up GUI that tends to crash.
I am using this "telnet" and it works kind of fine for everything i do, but it does not like AIX hft/lft definitions and i needed to experiment a little how to set the TERM-variable to get vi to work, but it's doing its job okay.
I think i got my copies of these telnet clients from ftp.funet.fi.
Unfortunately, i do not remember anything about Atari MUD-clients, sorry.
