I dont know where I stand on that issue?

Abandoned means just that... Finders keepers and all that rubbish!

Its true though, that the software is still legally the owners software, and downloading it is not exactly illegal, but definitely not right.

I suppose it goes along the lines of that if you wanted a peice of software, you try to find it in a shop, or buy it perfectly legally on-line or whatever, but you cannot find it anywhere... Even the developers wont sell you it, and yet you can download it from site "X", then as far as I care, then for sure, download away!

However, if that software is still available, then trying to get hold of it in this way is wrong.
