If you want a SCSI HD on your Atari, then you have to have a SCSI Controler. Its really that simple!

I would have thought that if it was possible to do it without a SCSI controler, then the controlers would not be so bloody expensive.

I would have thought anyway!

Maybe you could try and opt for an IDE controler instead? they are cheaper as well.
