Magic does this, and yes, so does NVDI.
this is usually caused by you not installing either of them properly!
With NVDI, just disable it for now by renaming the PRG to PRX in the auto folder, but as for Magic, that should run perfectly well providing its looking for the GDOS Fonts etc in the same place as you had it on the Atari.

What I suggest you do, is copy the files exactly as they are on your atari, onto the PC the same way, without missing any files out, and it should work that way.
However, you might also have the folders named wrong perhaps???
Maybe the files are named with upper/lower cases, but MAGIC is looking for other cases maybe?
