This is what I got back from the people at Milan Computers when I asked them about the Motorola deal. Doesn't sound like a flat-out denial to me:

thank you for your request regarding an Atari-Milan deal with Motorola.
Unfortunately we are not able do any anoucements about the future of Atari
and any new Milan-System.
But I am sure that weŽll be able to do so in a view weeks. As soon as
possible weŽll update our Webpage with our news (perhaps july 1999).
