I've heard of this problem a couple of times. Unfortunately, i don't exactly remember how it was solved. You can try using the other socket on the Megafile - I think that solved the problem for some STEs.
If not, it's probably a DMA problem.

AHDI is good enough for a Megafile drive, certainly, and you can download it from my drivers-page:
