Depends on the monitor you're using.
Generally, you'll achieve more flexibility and more
resolutions using a hardware screen explander such
as Screenblaster or Blow Up - And at least Videlity can
operate both.
Software only solutions are limited and then all software
expanders are (almost) equally powerful. I personally
prefer Videlity which also cooperates nicely with Nemesis.
