It is indeed.
Make sure you don't have any programs in your AUTO folder, or any accessories (.ACC) files loaded, these can interfere with CuBase's Multitasking OS (MR-OS) by masking interrupts and other nasty things like that.
If you have a hard drive, try installing a bootmanager like Mouseboot or SuperBoot, which will let you set up various preset boot configs, you can then choose one for CuBase and have it startup automatically.
Start out with simple stuff, recording a clicktrack, recording some chords, melody part, blah, and if it crashes at the same point each time you could have a faulty machine, or a corrupted binary for CuBase.
