The project is no longer called "xTOS" but "ACP" for Atari Coldfire Project. From what i read on their page (acp.atari.org) and what people have told me, it currently progresses well. It seems like the hardware design is mainly done and the current focus lies in the basic software design (OS, drivers etc).
I doubt there is a USA distributor fixed yet, in fact, i don't know ANY fixed distributors except for those involved in the project.
BTW, the link www.xtos.de will not lead to the ACP-site but is now dedicated to something called the "Atari Software Foundation".
