I owned and loved both machines.
The Amiga definately had its advantages and was fun but the Atari floppy wouldn't wake the family at weee hours of the night. ;) Very important for a night owl such as me!
GFA Basic was on the Atari and it really is a beautiful language.
Benchmark Modula 2 is on the Amiga and very fun as well. I still remember the angry thread on GEnie but I never had any problems.
