Hi,
if you look the pinout of power rear of your 800XL (not the same for the 800 !!!!), you have a DIN-7 connector (DIN-5 for video).
when read in horlogic way, from 1 to 7, you have : 1/ +5V, 2/ +5V, 3/ +5V, 4/ shield, 5/ ground, 6/ ground, 7/ground. and it's the same for 65XE/130XE machines.
It will be fine with 1.5A (fuse at 2.5A to be comfortable).
The 800 (Coleen model) takes 9V and more Amps.
