The only "black" disk editor I remember was a hacked version of the 810 Sector editor.
Most people used "The sector editor" the commercial version that required BASIC..
However, near the end, someone made The Best sector editor ever made for the Atari it was the "Edit 130XE" it was an editor that ran on the 130XE, and held the ENTIRE disk in RAM at the same time FAST editing... Could do Single and double density to..
Then it would writ out the whole disk if you wanted..... :)
