Hiya

Holding Option disables BASIC BUT also removes some routines that can be called from machine code/a program. You also gain a little extra memory.

IIRC If you boot the system by holding down Option you'l get the tests. Most menu systems will work either way as they aren't memory hungry.

Some menu systems can be loaded hi or lo depending what was put on disk when it was created!
