I would recommend going to a search engine and looking for the Atari Lynx FAQ. You can probably find a copy at www.gamefaqs.com
To answer your question:
- the Lynx 2 was slightly smaller and more compact
- it supported stereo sound (through headphones only) were as the Lynx 1 only did mono, even with headphones.
- the Lynx 2 had a switch so that you could leave the unit on but turn off the backlight; this was to conserve power if you wanted to pause the game without turning off the unit.
- I *think* that the Lynx 2 would also auto-power off after 7 minutes, and the Lynx 1 would not - but I may have this wrong.
There are no compatibility issues - any game that will run on a Lynx 1 will run on a Lynx 2, and vice-versa.
