Earx is right, it's a bit in register 7 of the YM (if I remember correct) that toggles the ide on/off.
Probably your music driver is ugly written and doesn't honour this. Bugfix the player or change to another player.
If neither is possible, I suggest speaking with Grazey about the player, he might have a bugfixed one already (he's SNDH'ing most of UMD and then need to fix these things).
