What I mean by bloated code isn`t more or less features.

Did you ever come across utilities all doing the same things? One is 250kb and the other just 36kb while being better/faster at the task? This is what I mean with bloat! Todays OSes like MS, Mac, linux are good examples of true bloat. Atari/Amiga programs are very small efficient and optimised! The new Amiga OS is to be written in VP assemler which is very small and efficient, just like the orginal Ataris and Amigas. Tao`s Sun authorised Java engine is totally written in VP assembler and is the smallest and fastest Java implementation available. Amiga stats the new OS will be just around 5MB with loads of features including Tao`s Java engine!
