The number of chips is not really relevant since they're all
being accessed identically - how the SIMM spreads the
data over the embedded chips doesn't matter to the STE.
Actually, you can't damage your STE by trying. The STE
requires at least 2 slots to be filled (equals one bank) and
if i remember correctly, they're located interleaved on the
STE motherboard, so you have to fill either the slot 0 and 2
or 1 and 3.
