Hiya randy.
I too have had this issue.
I am about to also have that very issue, however my first TT was a success, this time round its an unknown.
First time round, I had the 4x1MB SIPS and sure enough, with the aid of SIP-SIMM adapters, I converted my TTRAM Board to SIMM instead of SIP, I then swapped out the 4x1MB for 4x4MB however, there are 3 jumpers on the board, and these need to be set for the 4MB SIMMS instead of the 1MB ones.
All you need to do, is simply unsolder the SIPS and then solder in the SIP-SIMM adapters, there is absolutely nothign that can go wrong really?
Orientation of the SIM sockets? - well thay go in with the back towards the back, so that the CHIPS on the SIMMS are facing the front.
The Jumpers? - OTTOMH Im sure that they simply went to the opposite to what the were? - Im sure that they are W1 / W2 and W3 and each are jumpered 1-2 and instead, jumper thm 2-3, Im sure thats all it is, but Im not entirely 100% on that... Ill get back to you.

Now, the second time round I am about to embark on the second one right as we speak...
I have once again, only got a 4+4 TT, and for 95% of uses, thats all it needs, and as I have 16+256 on my Falcon I have no real need to up my TT, however, its a case of why not.
The Card in there now is again a SIP Job, I have another set of 4x4MB SIMMS but Nick at 16/32 has 4MB TTRAM Board in, that already have SIMMS in them.
I have sent off my 4x4MB simms for him to test for me, to verify their TT Compatibility ( Silly to buy it if the SIMMS are not accepted I suppose ) and so this is a cheap way around it, however, its also a quick fix too!
