I have one of these on my shelf without TOS ROM's, which I bought many years ago. You are right, it is software switchable. I recall I had to put a tiny program in the AUTO folder to start it up.

If you find the program, I'd be interested in know where I can get it. I no longer have the floppy with the program on.
