I'd figured that much out already, and I'm under no illusions that this disc will behave nicely in an ACSI chain. It'd be nice if I could daisy chain my SatanDisk but I don't have high hopes.
However, for the sake of twenty quid plus three quid train fare, I thought it was worth a punt. I'm very curious to try slaving a CF adaptor for backups.
I've never seen an IDE disc in an Atari drive before, I was conditioned to expect SCSI or ST506. I have experience with SCSI (GEsoft) and internal IDE (Falcon030) but this beast is new and fascinating. There'll be a Flickr stream soon.
In the meantime, if anyone has a spare DMA cable, it would save me grinding six pins off a 25 pin cable maybe?
